i got the idea for this thread from one jessika posted and which contained a response from dede.. which form of final resting place do you prefer and why?
personally, i want to be cremated and have my ashes scattered at a particular place on the beach on deserted st. catherine's island, a barrier island on the georgia coast.
my children could get there by boat (the only way) and visit my spirit there - even though i know my spirit won't be there, i believe that somehow i will know they're there and what they're saying.. being buried in a box six feet under to lie in the same position througout all eternity doesn't appeal to me in the least.
Too many people give little or no consideration to an option which would be of much more benefit than taking up vital ground space i.e. burial, or, a cause of pollution i.e. cremation.
When I die I want my body to be placed in bushland, well away from public access, to allow the native animals to have a feed. My family do not believe I am serious about this matter but it probably affords me an opportunity to contribute something worthwhile by my death.

How could anyone forget Kiss? I never did fancy them, but the brothers were fear struck, especially re-inforced by the urban myth? that Kiss really stood for -

My outstanding moral principles would normally prohibit me from replying, but, as I am trying to be recognised as One-who-will-reply-when-other-sensible-people-are-going-to-ignore-you, here goes. Besides, also being the kind-hearted-soft-touch individual that I am, this will help you get to 100 posts. I guess it's a milestone, one to which I can only aspire.

recently i had a great idea for a new book.
like so many of my recent book ideas, it deals with what will happen when we hit the singularity.
of course, me saying that the singularity will happen "real soon now" will strike a somewhat disturbing chord with many here kurzweilai.net for some interesting discussion on the topic of the singularity (the non-flash version is slightly less boggling, and although it is a very pretty site, it is almost impossible to find stuff using the flash version).. my book will ask this basic question (albeit never out loud): when exactly will we hit the bottom of the spike of singularity, and how will it happen?
I know how lonely it can be (and sometimes a little discouraging) not to receive any replies to a post.
So. You will always find that many and varied pictures of nude women (and throw a couple of men in for the females) will increase the potential for any book to be read. Well, always makes it more interesting for me anyway.

being disassociated carries with it many rewards - not being invited to the in-laws, not having bible bashers assaulting my privacy (but sometimes i do wish they would call to share some wholesome fellowship.
presently i am working on my apostate skills and feel that i am making some progress, but i do recall how much the brothers dreaded those persons reputedly of the (shudder) 'evil slave class'.
i haven't seen any mention of them on the board and wonder whether they still exist, and if they still manage to icite fear and trepidation in the joeys.. if so..... then i want to enlist - it must be the ultimate in achievement.. cheeses (of the evil slave class).

late one night, a burglar broke into a house, the family had gone out for the evening.. as he was sneaking around the living room he heard a voice say 'jesus is watching you!
' he froze in his tracks.. silence returned, and as the burglar started moving forward, again he heard 'jesus is watching you!
' he was frightened.. frantically he looked around the corner of the room with his torch and saw a parrot in a cage.

i always find delight in greeting any of the jw's from my area with - "hello brother (or sister) so-and-so, and how in the devil are you?
" no response, i usually try to follow up with - "i see that you are still suffering from watchtower induced self-righteous hypocrisy.".
there is always much pleasure to be had by coming up behind them in a supermarket for example, and giving them the hello brother treatment.

To be sure, I have respect for your decisions with regard to your attitude to the JWs, and also acknowledge that no two people share the same circumstances in life, and I only suggested that you consider DAing whilst having no idea of your situation with the JWs.
I also did not sign on as a member, and neither did I sign any paper when I left as I did not feel it necessary at the time, though, from reading a number of posts here, it maybe be advantageous to drop the society a note reiterating my choice to DA, even though it happened almost a decade ago. Not playing by their rules was a primary consideration when I opted out - I elected to leave of my own free will before they had cause to disfellowship me.
